Yeah. Both parties get new access to anglosphere market that will be less hostile/imposing than EU. Lots of plusses to ponder. I think long term it would force both US and EU to be more honest.

It's not an economic question for the average 'leave' voter though. Leaving is in large part about restoring the UK's sovereignty.

many 'leave' voters say this, but then cite frustrations such as trade and the impact of immigration on labor. everything is an economic question imo.

Yeah. Brexit was a binary, but one could imagine multiple choices across axes: * More sovereign * More "free" (guns, taxes, permitting, whatever) * Less "European" * Economic stuff How sure can we be that sovereignty was the maximal desire? It could be multiple something elses.

Agreed, a shame that there is no rank order of preferences when voting. I wonder if joining the US would mean the dissolution of the royal family from any semblance of power that they currently have.

could explore a new structure, maintaining english political system for domestic affairs while granting senators and formalizing a permanent trade / immigration / defensive relationship
