in many states the disincentive for acts of domestic terror is the death penalty. i'm not sure that's the perfect solution, but it's certainly a more reasonable place to begin this conversation than "let's be china."
Is the death penalty at all effective in deterring acts of terror? I’ve not seen research to that effect. And if your logic is that the threat of legal punishment deters antisocial behavior, haven’t you just argued against yourself?
I’m not trying to be a smartass, honestly. I hear this kind of anti-censorship argument all the time (who on Twitter hasn’t?), but I rarely hear alternatives. Maybe you or one of your followers has some ideas?
