a journalist once told me large companies had a “duty” to respond to press inquiries. why? because, she said, they run critical infrastructure, but who are these people? no one elected them. that struck me as reasonable. until it occurred to me... wait, who elected you?

my point is not that journalists are correct, my point is upon further reflection the journalistic sense of entitlement to an executive’s time seems both hypocritical and silly
