Does she not know that nuclear fuel rods can be reprocessed into new rods for recyclable energy? The US Gov just drags its feet on allowing it to happen and instead just throws waste into barrels. They half-built a reprocessing facility in South Carolina but abandoned it.

There’s a portion of the left that cut their teeth in late Cold War anti-nuclear proliferation. That bled into a distrust of civilian nuclear power which is irrational as anti-vaxxing. Phenomenon is strongest in Germany; sad to see it in US though this is why town hall is useful.
