  The tweets I’ve read today praising his death, from public accounts, are really stunning. I may be wrong, but I don’t recall public figures, journalist, real name internet handles, etc., being so jocular about the death of a good person who happened to have different politics.

  By victimizing the "bad guy" the mob views themselves as revolutionaries against the old Regime. Perhaps, to your point, we're really seeing the Regime make a public sacrifice to strike fear into aspiring revolutionaries.

  Even taking this tweet at face value, I don’t think “keep in line” is the worst message for the masses to send billionaires when it comes to actively, aggressively accelerating climate change for personal gain. And the Kochs are uniquely effective at scaling climate ruination
