This is a deeply disingenuous framing. Consumer choices account for a minuscule amount of carbon emissions compared to multinat corp emissions, plus there's decades worth of evidence showing how fossil fuel corps funded disinformation, lobbying and policy to confuse the facts.

It'd be much more like prosecuting tobacco company execs who lied about the health risks of cigarettes in order to keep stock prices and sales high, but since we actually did that and it worked, this nitwit isn't about to mention that.

Consumers often don't have the choice (realistically) to choose more eco-friendly alternatives. The blame lies with those who have the power here but choose not to do anything.
