gen z may have inherited distribution channels, but there’s no question they’re building their own culture. ground floor, have you seen them meme? it’s a foreign language.
The medium is the message. Any group would develop the same memes on these distribution mechanisms
my point isn’t gen z has superpowers. my point is, regardless of why, they have a unique culture.
Communications have become increasingly hieroglyphic since the birth of 20th Century text messaging, & evolving linguistic norms often indicate tectonic cultural shifts. My observation, however, is adoption of these new norms is multi generational, save for the eldest among us.
Yeah. And old people aren’t even using the media they have created properly. It’s fascinating to watch. I do everything I can to learn correct media use from Gen Z.
