this wasn’t designed to save the environment, this was designed to signal “fuck tech.” we are facing actual crises in homelessness, drug abuse, and housing, and brown is wasting time collaborating with a corrupt monster on bullshit. at least the socialist stands for something.

The funny thing about these laws is one pissed off moderately wealthy person could very cheaply create more waste than these policies will save in a decade.

single use plastic is less resource intensive and better than expensive & quickly deteriorating reusables when the plastic actually finds its way to a landfill (which is 99.99% of the time in developed countries)

If this was actually about the environment and not virtue signaling, they’d funnel this money into better waste collection infrastructure
