it's absolutely available to people "without means." not only is it covered by most insurance, including medicare, gilead gives it away *for free* to people who can't afford it.

Insurance requires means. Gilead has given 2.4M bottles to CDC for the 1.1M Americans living with HIV (and the ~359M who don’t have it but could contract it.) They offer a discount to low income people. The discount must be applied for by a doctor. Doctors cost money.

we're doing ok. the drug has catalyzed a decline in new infections. but it's also normalized unsafe sex (sypyilis is spiking etc.), and i'm worried about 'the next HIV,' whatever that might look like. this is still an awareness game, imo. just need to keep talking.
