Let's be clear, when the only response Sen Warren and Sanders can muster to a legitimate question about their extreme policies is "that's a Republican talking point" then what they are really saying is "I can't defend my policies on the merits." That should scare democrats.

are you talking about the Green New Deal? the "Republican talking points" thing was in the context of healthcare, where the critiques at issue were about political feasibility. There's no real question about whether we could afford single-payer
jake asked sanders about the financial impact his policy would have on the middle class. that's a normal thing we need to talk about. and if it's a cake walk, as you're implying, it would have been a grand slam for the left - bernie should have just answered.

it is indeed a Republican talking point to bring up higher taxes without talking about the elimination of other medical costs, medical bankruptcies, savings from preventative care, etc. Hard to get all that in a sound bite, which is why talking points matter

again, if the framing of a question didn't influence people's responses, we wouldn't see polls producing wildly divergent results on the same issue depending on how the question is asked.
