no place i worked for free could afford to pay me, and all were respectful of my time and outside professional commitments (aka coffee shop... to “pay the bills”). i made the choice to intern, and the choice changed my life.

it worked for me *three times* but that’s not the point. it’s my right to use my time however i see fit. if you want to demand payment in exchange for... learning a lot and acquiring a professional network, go right ahead.
