If NASA had a spine, it'd hire Zubrin asap & turn him loose on Mars. Mars Direct is the best way to do the Red Planet, & Moon Direct is the best way to do the Moon. Unfortunately, the Challenger & Columbia disasters traumatized NASA, & those vendors have a hold on it, too....
