no, genetic engineering isn’t lindy. neither is spaceflight, the internet, or HIV meds. this pseudo-intellectual luddite bullshit is exhausting — what kind of world do you want to live in?
hundreds of millions if not billions of organisms have gone extinct. we’re fine. but more importantly: how can you be sure destroying the HIV virus won’t cause global problems. how can you be sure eliminating small pox, cholera, or malaria won’t cause global problems?
