railroads at the turn of the 19th century are somewhat comparable, but this is unprecedented territory. we have to think through the problem ourselves. still working through it all myself.

That’s a great comparison. Most public utilities are natural monopolies with high barriers of entry, but not sure if I see social media being in that category. MySpace->Facebook. Data collection might present similar barriers of entry tho
