      I increasingly think that there needs to be a Wikipedia-like record of all history as it takes place. Journalists are not historians but pretend to be. What we need is objectivity not the various types of pandering common in the 4th estate.

      i don't think objectivity is possible. i would rather journalists drop the artifice completely and simply acknowledge their specific biases, whatever they may be, at the top of their reporting.

      Yes! A debit/credit system to compensate for consensus objectivity? Every contributor expresses bias upfront, community also does the same; some form of voting to measure consensus; reward and punish for system abuse?? 🤔🤔

      Get rid of the notion of objectivity. Wikipedia should make updates immutable. Then factions can develop processes for how they merge updates. People can then subscribe to forks managed by institutions or orgs they trust.

      i don't like the concept of "self-determined objectivity" but consensus objectivity seems impossible so i guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

          Can't really avoid the responsibility tho. You can delegate this process to others (what's this rash Doc?), but you still have to decide who to delegate to. Better to be able to choose freely w/robust mechanisms for comparing service providers.
