many have misunderstood the media's theranos frame — 'typical of silicon valley' — as simply another unfair character assault on the tech industry. but of course the media invented theranos; their primary focus right now isn't tech at all, it's the absolution of their own guilt.

Agree. Theranos' board of directors and investors are anything but usual -- ex-government officials and powerful connections. more like crony capitalism (corporatism) then SV capitalism
