Wait what, they want a free stuff and a bureaucracy to administer free stuff.
they want to delete the social welfare state. ubi was theoretically a way they could reduce bureaucracy and admin by like 99 percent, obliterate paternalism / government cheese, AND give every person in the country a regular check.

My only problem with UBI in a democracy with highly inequal outcomes is that, it will inevitably turn into a game of which politician will give me more money. Oh I agree, if only we could permanently constrain ubi to a percentage of GDP that reflects the current welfare

Cuts out the waste, also would probably be great for business considering that there's suddenly a more *free market* utilization of all the money, no longer in the hands of a government bureaucrat
