Agree w/you re: LA. There was a very real arb on LA five years ago - dramatically lower cost of living vs. SF with strong talent base. Real estate prices in LA have since skyrocketed. Plus, we are now at what I think is peak "Anti-SF" which makes me more bullish on SF

Re: NYC - I find it is easier to think independently there because of the sheer volume of activity / endless city vibe. That said, it can be exhausting, the weather sucks, and basically as expensive as SF. Moreover, it's increasingly anti-business. There's no perfect place.
