Have you read "The Forever War"? It has a good deal of this. Due to time dilation, military campaigns last centuries. Every time main character comes back it's some new paradigm. "Oh, we're all chemically induced gay now? Ok, then."

Came here to mention TFW as well. Heinlein goes deeper into it than “ok then”, though. His explanation that it was a top-down decision in reaction to resource pressures is what lends that portion of the book weight, & what keeps parallels to what the episode endeavors to outline.

Conservatism and family = scalable and antifragile Polyamory/Heteroflexibility(wtf)/Trans/etc. = luxury fads for hipsters When any substantial crisis or struggles occur, all of this 'social science' garbage will go out the window. Not antifragile.

This is why the "I'm fiscally conservative but socially liberal" cop-out fad will burn out. Not scalable.
