      I often wonder if we should ditch the term capitalism and just use freedom whenever possible... it’s more intuitive, especially in your “man in the forrest example” where there is little, if any, “capital”.

      Freedom is a broader term that includes (necessarily) right to property. Ceding the fight for "capitalism" would be akin to asking for "health" generally when what you need to live is heart surgery.

      I guess I would simply define capitalism as the name we have given to freedom in the economic realm. The term itself is not the real battle, it’s a battle over whether to respect the human right to freedom in the economic realm.

      i actually helped design the classes where he laid this out — peter’s thinking on competition and monopoly has nothing to do with capitalism. he’s speaking to our cultural sense of entrepreneurship vs. what is actually healthy. both possible under capitalism, one preferable.
