Capitalism and freedom are inextricably linked, and both are at risk. I believe freedom is worth fighting for, and that we must, starting with a fight for our language. I wrote about the nature of capitalism, the threat to capitalism, and a way forward.https://link.medium.com/8mj76mhPST
stephen, i think it may take more energy to write out “human right to freedom in the economic realm” than it would to simply defend “capitalism”

The content and delivery is well thought out and articulated! :) A 'dumbed down' reductionist way to also define is in capitalism one gives up equality for freedom & in communism one gives up freedom for equality. The rest can be unpacked from these guiding principles.

Capitalism needs a rebrand. That's why I use Stalin's term: "Anarchy in production." What's cooler than building what you want or what you think society needs? It's a lot better, and less unequal, than centralizing those decisions with the 535 Members of Congress.

Def true :) And not attacking your piece - I genuinely loved it, thanks for sharing! Just wanted to point out that my pathway to defending capitalism (and I do!) is to connect with people in terms they are not hostile to. If they are for freedom in other realms, why not economic?
