Capitalism and freedom are inextricably linked, and both are at risk. I believe freedom is worth fighting for, and that we must, starting with a fight for our language. I wrote about the nature of capitalism, the threat to capitalism, and a way forward.https://link.medium.com/8mj76mhPST
Freedom is a broader term that includes (necessarily) right to property. Ceding the fight for "capitalism" would be akin to asking for "health" generally when what you need to live is heart surgery.

I guess I would simply define capitalism as the name we have given to freedom in the economic realm. The term itself is not the real battle, it’s a battle over whether to respect the human right to freedom in the economic realm.

stephen, i think it may take more energy to write out “human right to freedom in the economic realm” than it would to simply defend “capitalism”

Just as many are finally starting to respect the human right to freedom in spirituality, sexuality, and ownership of their own bodies. I like appealing to the broadness of it in order to complete the vision of human freedom.
