I often wonder if we should ditch the term capitalism and just use freedom whenever possible... it’s more intuitive, especially in your “man in the forrest example” where there is little, if any, “capital”.

Freedom is a broader term that includes (necessarily) right to property. Ceding the fight for "capitalism" would be akin to asking for "health" generally when what you need to live is heart surgery.

This a hugely important point. Capitalism is the economic system that emerges when individuals have property rights and economic freedom. I’ve started to refer to it as the free market to avoid the negative connotations of the term capitalism.
