Pure capitalism does not exist anywhere; America has social programs. Pure socialism does not exist anywhere, either, those countries have capitalist elements. Claiming every aspect of socialism is like slavery is just absurd.

Look at it this way: Without *some* protector of the long term interest, the best strategy in most markets is to corner it at all costs (including violence). In other words, if you want market forces, you need *non* market forces to protect and defend them.
