I do agree with you that it’s a matter of terminology. The term “social democracy” is used as if it’s completely antithetical to capitalism

It does. It is as close to the human psyche as one can get. Scandinavia has no issue with capitalism, but more with inequality or with poverty and unlucky being the persons fault. But capitalism we have.
