When enough people can’t work bc they have no relevant skills, we will pay them to not work bc we won’t let them starve. There’s no reason this is inevitable, but every indication is that this is America’s preferred public policy. Has been for decades.

Look at existing workforce participation & trends in social service spending on the unskilled. As they say in trch, the future is already here, it’s just not evenly distributed yet.
