Agree it would seem China should be in top ten. Though AI isn't everything (ha, though it might become everything). I'm not sure I subscribe to the idea that starving people of health and education is a great way to boost innovation. Don't think the data points to that?

Fair enough! Through my lens of working with emerging cities and slums, it seems true that necessity can be the mother of innovation. Yet living in Beijing for a decade also showed me just how much more powerful innovation can be once the baseline is stabilized.
