I haven’t seen a single suggestion of “highly skilled asset”. Working against the interests of the US to benefit himself financially doesn’t require him to have been a secret agent run by the FSB like in the movies.
i just quote tweeted an actual congressman implying the president has shut down the US government at the covert request of a foreign power. that is literally the plot of the manchurian candidate.
