Most people chasing The American Dream aren’t shooting for $10mm... they’re shooting for around $80k/yr/earner or perhaps triple that in high CoL areas. More robust social programs (and the taxes to fund them) would improve mobility up to and past that level.

No I grew up in Silicon Valley and bought it’s myths instead of America’s. You’ve made me soften my stance though. It does feel awful high and mighty to claim our poorest people don’t also aspire to world-denting power, or hold strong opinions on how things should work.
