      These things aren’t implied by one another. For example, it’s very common to raise from a large lead and a number of funds that have targeted value add and write smaller checks. That’s good for everyone.

      I think this rather misses the point in general though. As a thought experiment, would you rather have $1M check from $1B fund to option your next round, or 4 $250k checks from highly-engaged $5 million funds?
