Giving someone a housing subsidy will generally lower the cost of their housing unless I’m missing something. Though your argument may be that homelessness is good as it lowers demand for housing which is an interesting take.

no, i’m saying this will increase demand by decreasing supply at market rate. we are now paying people to pay for housing that is too expensive bc supply is *already* limited. prices will necessarily rise.
