i understand this sounds tedious and weird, but i don’t think democracy survives the internet without significant change to cultural norms in this vein

I agree with the citation norm! I do worry that offering biases would make things worse though — it could give a sense of epistemological security while actually kicking the problem up one level. Could anyone speaking for [insert institution] ever admit meaningful bias?
