“presumed innocence” is not a radical concept - it is an enlightened, time-tested, essential component of freedom. and you’re not a bad person for defending it right now, you’re the last thing standing between functioning, civil society and chaos.

now we’re back on track. “people.” and yes i believe a body politic willing to defend a principle publicly is the only thing capable of preserving that principle.
