    My third Arrowood book is out today. It's a book I'm very proud of, although I wish it wasn't coming out in the middle of this crisis. Good luck to all in these difficult days.

    Happy publication day, ! Detective William Arrowood and sidekick Barnett are on the case, but will they solve it in time, or will they discover more corpses in the dreary depths of the Thames? is out TODAY!

    An excellent article on free speech in universities by Prof Scott-Baumann. I’ve taught a course for over 15 years on racism and group violence and can say from experience that many students love to discuss controversial issues and we’ve never been stopped.

    What a glorious character the flatulent, gout riddled, cut price Sherlock Holmes is. Full of faults but a heart of gold. Loved this 2nd in the series. A dark tale of 19th century mental health/disability treatment yet full of heartwarming wit too superb

    Today is the day I was offered a hotel mini-break in return for blurbing a book, by a PR who says she hasn’t actually read it. She helpfully supplied phrases for me to use in said blurb, including “blows your mind and heart asunder”.
