Wrongful convictions are epidemic in our society. You are guilty until proven innocent. I know this because I lived it. The only cases looked at are murder cases. Fed conviction rate 97%. Let that sink in. North Korea may have a higher conviction rate. MAYBE

One of the problems in criminal law, is that judges, lawyers and police all see acquittals as a 'failure'. Convictions are seen as the objective, rather than truth. The presumption of guilt only applies to the jury, and even then only maybe. Many will defer to authority.

Don't look much further than Meuller to see how that all works. Thank god for DNA testing now. Everyone should want to get fingerprinted and DNA tested so they can't get wrongfully convicted.
