People coming forward should be applauded. Don't recall a ton of folks bathed in glory after Ailes and O'Reilly stories broke.

Timing DOES matter. And who came up w/"people coming forward should be applauded" rule? Is it applied evenly? Cuz I don't recall a ton of lib male journos applauding countless times I called out pig behavior by big male (and at least 1 female) media pigs.http://michellemalkin.com/2017/04/25/malkin-manifesto-straight-talk-about-women-and-the-workplace/ …

I don't know of the times you're referring to but I think you know I stand up for folks against indecency regardless of their politics
-
"People coming forward should be applauded" is not a journalistic tenet. It's an advocacy tenet. The Weinstein scandal is not an excuse to turn off your brain & abdicate responsibility to assess credibility of accusers. Some are more credible than others.
-
In both O'Reilly & Weinstein cases, some of the women came forward are more credible than others. Timing, among many other factors, DOES matter. It's the oppose of female empowerment to embrace the irrational notion that women never lie about rape/sexual harassment.
-
Absolutely! I was falsely accused and the female perp recanted, stating she had made it up. Harassment can & has been used as a weapon.
-
That said credible harassment/assault is NOT WOMAN'S fault! Waiting 5, 10 or 15 YEARS IS a red flag to credibility.

Read the story. She told a lot of people about what he did, including her agent. They didn't tell anybody, either.
-
She didn't tell the police.
-
Because historically reporting assault has worked so well for women?
-
Ummm, Yeah as a matter of fact it does if you tell the proper authority.
-
That's not most women's experience. But ok, you're intent on hating on Gwyneth Paltrow because she's everything you're not
-
Can’t argue effectively, so you attack. Typical.
-
I did argue effectively. She did tell people. She was well-connected enough not to need Weinstein. Sbe eas afraid of him.

Why these women speak up when it happened. Maybe their careers were more important than protecting other women. So sad.

God help us all if that is another woman’s attitude about this. Obviously you have never been in this position
-
How would you know??? Don’t judge me. You know nothing about me
-
Ummm...and you don’t know these women either so why judge them ?
-
Facts show they knew he was a sexual predator. Why keep quiet? Wouldn’t it be helpful to help other women who were future victims?
