This is true. Part of the issue w social media is that it is incentivized to distract its user base with a plethora of shiny virtual objects — making them oblivious to the tangible thing occurring around them locally.
America is on fire. Our traditions, history, culture & institutions are up in smoke. Mobs are invading our "safest" backyards while police sit back and watch. Sorry not sorry that I can't bring myself to care right now about exploding buildings thousands of miles away!

Weve got important work to do here in the US. My thoughts go out to anyone affected by the explosion.. But I believe the most pressing issue is building a competing infrastructure to our current centralized dependency. As it will be used to ensure compliance in the near future

I agree with your points about America Michelle. But, come on, it's not the buildings we should care about, but the people that lost their lives today. You can see extensive damage to residential buildings around the explosion. Not the best look right now.
