I think if someone is convicted with DNA evidence, I’m fine with the death penalty.

Assuming no one tampered with it.

And besides, we also have the security needed in our prisons to protect society, even without capital punishment

This isn't a problem with the death penalty, this is a problem of both prosecutors and defense attorneys selecting the stupidest possible people for juries.
-
Then the prosecutors should be put to death.
-
Orrrr we can implement selection guidelines that restrict exclusion to criminal background and individuals who exhibit ignorance of information essential to a successful, fair trial.
-
You have much more faith in the government than I do.
-
Right, because executing lawyers is a "reasonable" solution. The point is that with rules, there are consequences for breaking them.
-
Or just don't have a death penalty. If you're not willing to put your life on the line to prosecute someone to death, then maybe it's not beneficial for society.
-
Because siphoning taxpayer dollars for meals, healthcare, and endless appeals for scumbags is a better use of resources? That's libertarian garbage. Wrongful convictions are an infinitesimal percentage of death sentences, and most unearthed now are from decades ago.
-
What do meals and healthcare have to do with justice?
