McCain's treatment of Sarah Palin was pretty sad. In many ways he seemed to be a dislikable person and overrated. Certainly a sad follow up to Barry Goldwater who McCain replaced.

In 2008 I watched CSpan's Road To The White House where they covered stump speeches. They broadcasted a speech by Sarah Palin in nowhere central Pennsylvania. She was relaxed, articulate, warm and you could really see she had potential (if she just got her confidence level up).
