    It will be political malpractice if Democrats don't use this as a cudgel, just as it will be malpractice if the House doesn't continue to investigate the administration, given clear evidence of gross corruption.

    In the on-rush of press releases from GOP Sens saying of course he did it but that doesn't mean we should have held a trial, we see clearly the cudgel this gives challenges to Gardner, Ernst, Tillis, Purdue, McSally et al. Each of them INDIVIDUALLY guaranteed the shut down.

    The LA Times misunderstood what I said today. Before the trial I said I'd keep an open mind. Now that both sides made their cases, it’s clear the president’s actions were wrong. He withheld vital foreign assistance for personal political gain. That can’t be allowed to stand.
