"Standardized testing has always been a progressive idea. It disrupts class & race, unseats entrenched privilege, & offers the poor & the marginalized their best chance of social mobility." @sullydish But now SAT is racist & working hard "white supremacy culture" Not. Good.

I believe the conditions of ones upbringing the way certain environments shape tiny humans, one who’s in an abusive household vs a privileged household might fair different in a standardized test that assumes an equal ground work for all.

Perfect response. You would think these people who push critical thinking this hard would have already discovered that huge assumption. Something tells me Shermer and Co. are bad faith actors.

It does not disrupt "class." A poor person who goes to an underfunded school district is more likely to score poorly. Go to an Ivy League school. More than half the kids are from rich families. Half of them are idiots.

Look at the history of these tests. It really did open stuff for the non wealthy.

I think the real problem is getting rid of it without having an alternative. What exactly are you achieving expect taking struggling families money otherwise

Let's not forget the privileged prep and coaching for those tests.

Kids with access will do better on the SAT. Not everyone can afford $600 for 10 hours of tutoring.
