I'd love to see where is your evidence -or to begin with a measurement/metric- for "normal anxiety" vs "mental health anxiety"- that "coddling" as an established contributing factor to increased reports of anxiety?

A small amount of stress (ie shitting yourself) is essential to ensure great results - big only if it is teamed up with preparation work. Otherwise we’ll all be stuck at home playing on our PlayStations

My concern is for out of touch old white guys like yourself. The problem is vastly more complex. I wasn’t coddled as a child. I “lost” much of my childhood taking care of a disabled parent. I still suffer from anxiety. Your misinformed rhetoric is damaging to anyone who suffers

Did you actually read what he said or were you just too busy generalising? He said ‘normal’ anxiety which is not what you would have experienced. Take a minute to read and process

Me: "it seemed like many kids were given special care due to anxiety." People: " kids have disabilities and need help." "kids need protection", "anxiety disorder is real." I know this. But we should not propagate or confuse common anxiety with a disorder.

I feel much more anxiety now, in this era than I did when I was schooling in the 70's.
