If you label 1 group of people as oppressed & 2nd group as oppressors, here's what happens when a bakery closes at 9, someone of the oppressed group comes in at 9:06 & is refused service by someone of the oppressor group. Solution: end identity politics. https://quillette.com/2018/06/05/portland-bakery-white-guilt-poisons-batter/ …

That makes no sense at all. So because some people don't understand what oppression or ID politics is means we shouldn't about social issues or laws that deal with race and class?

What is wrong with some people? Reminds me 30 years ago Looking at carvings in an African village “ would you like to buy one?” Me “ just looking at the moment” “ ahh you won’t buy cos I’m Black”

Fully reading this account is surreal. Identity politics is always hijacked by the worst, egocentric, narcissistic, and sociopathic characters like Whitten. So ugly and filled with resentment.

That solution is right up there with “end war” in terms of absolute uselessness.

A sad story. I disagree with your treatment inasmuch as racism exists ergo idpol exists. What is required is a healthy dose of common sense: Ms Green shouldn't have assumed malice, and the company should've been more supportive of its staff.

Call me judgmental, but I’m guessing the people who called for the girls’ firing, have never had to make their living from a menial job in their lives. Talk about a bunch of privileged bourgeoisie.

Again, this piece follows the typical rightwing anti-SJW model: 1. Find an isolated incident of "identity politics" gone wild 2. "Suggest" motivations will little evidence 3. Blow up said incident to apply to society as a whole 4. Earn entry into the conservative outrage machine

You must not read much about the world if you think this is an isolated event. Just a few days ago the CEO of Twitter was forced to apologize for eating a chicken sandwich.
