I get your point, and it's a good reminder. But, I think the only people truly expecting ink to protect them are the ones who aren't strong proponents of the Second Amendment.

That's why shouldn't even consider giving up freedom of speech, and the ability to defend ourselves from, or to anyone. I don't see the Constitution and Bill of Rights as protective documents but as basic game rules. Rewriting the rules mid game seems like a lousy idea.
