I despise these as well. I believe the thinking is that by including that bar at the top for pull-ups, they can say they’re getting two-for-one, as if there aren’t countless places to do them already
I always feel safer using pins that are slightly too low to ones that are slightly too high. Lifting it off the rack is less comfortable when it’s low but putting it back feels much better
Did you use the safety side bars? I’ve had to bail out from under a bar before and they were invaluable. They definitely help with my peace of mind too. Just make sure you can still hit proper depth with them
It’s pretty harrowing when you have difficulty with the rerack. Especially if you don’t have clips on the bar because some beta was using them to curl, and you feel the plates on one side begin to slide. Stay safe plz
