To be more specific, it was Hamilton calling for the presidency to be for life at the constitutional convention. I’m pretty sure he was alone in that view but I could be wrong.

Didn't many of the founding fathers actually engage in pistol duels and fist fights over politics and personal grudges? Drop them in today, after marveling at the technology, I think they'd look at the rest of it and just shrug.
