That was tried and there was a comic. The argument was that 2+2=11 in base 3. Which is still four.

Can you make 2+2=5 using another base? Using base 4, 2+2=10 and using base 5 or higher, 2+2=4. It’s been a long time but I think that’s how it works

If you're using computer memory and you only have two bits, then 2+2 would overflow and you'd end up with zero. I don't know to get 5 though.
