To treat your question seriously and from a different perspective I would add this. The emotional process in decision making is almost always more powerful depending on personality type, experience and demographic. SF is expensive because people feel it is cool to live there.

They are willing to indulge in greater amounts of delusion to have the emotional and social cache of living where "it" is. Restaurants and bars? It took me three months to learn how to make food and drink as good as 90% of those places. It's not cool.

Just finished your book Mike, great work! Well worth the money. Makes sense why certain republicans figures appear edgier then they did when I was in my early twenties. Maybe they’re onto the changes you described, and they’re trying to get that vote since the e-left won’t anyhow
