My gut told me no at first but after thinking more how they ditched the articles of confederation for the crony constitution I had to change my mind.

Really? Why? To me they fought their own war just to write that thing. They would've told future us to f-ing figure it out.

If the mentality is "it's up to the future to figure it out" then why would they draft the Constitution to being with?

I would think yes. There were already huge disagreements over slavery when the Constitution was being drafted, particularly with respect to whether slaves should be counted for apportionment of representatives in Congress.

yes, I believe they did, and rather unambiguously The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. I've read U.S.C. couple times, can't find where it's prohibited.
