can someone explain to me how an account with 600K (real) followers only has 2 or 3 likes on some tweets? that seems like a statistical impossibility. am i missing something (other than shadowbanning maybe)?

I follow that account and can confirm I have not seen any content of theirs in...a while. I forgot I was following them.

Noticed that happen to me with some people I follow. In particular, Scott Adams. I had to set twitter to notify me every time he posts, otherwise it'll go days without him showing up on my timeline.

These three tweets occurred within 2 minutes and the center tweet conceivably could have gotten less visibility than the one above or below it.pic.twitter.com/lbVZDVwoAA

But all 3 of those tweets have barely any engagement, maybe it's some type of algorithm suppression?

I can't find it on their timeline. Maybe the tweet was deleted after your client loaded it?
-
Or maybe I can't see the tweet b/c it's being hidden from me some reason, which would deepen the mystery... anyone got a link?

Bland content.

I disagree, it‘s not a „fine question“ but rather a weirdly constructed question, too „meta“.

My guess is people don't engage as much with institutions that don't have visible spokesman, or if they are followed for purely informational purposes

Probably something to do with the twitter algorithm and interaction. If you follow someone but never interact with them, twitter tends to pull their stuff from your feed. I follow a lot of people whose posts I never see.
